Today’s focus is “News from the first day of Camp”

 

Its awesome.

 

 

Parents.  You would be so proud of your students.  So far, our first hours of camp are incredible.  It has been so cool to see your students engaging with God in worship.  They have started to have a great time with their counselors… and we(as staff) are already being left out of the little cabin jokes they are enjoying. 

 

I think that one of the things I love watching is the way these students find and reveal their true identities to us as the week goes along.  As these students get more comfortable with themselves and each other, they show us who they really are.  There isn’t as much pressure here for kids to try and impress people.  Somehow, they are beginning to understand that their value lies in what is inside and not outside.  I’m excited to see what God does this week.

I love our cabin! It’s fun getting to know different girls!  I love worship time.  I won a contest in archery!  150 points! Oh yeah!  –Emily W.

 

I like beating boys in things when they think that girls aren’t good enough… they thought that girls weren’t good at archery… but I won! It was so much fun!!

Just a quick note…  After two sessions with your students, it has been amazing to see God begin to stir their hearts toward worship already.  We have had the best first sessions that I can remember (after 11 years of leading worship in a camp setting).  It is an honor to be able to worship with your students, and to see them connecting with God in such an amazing way so early in the week!

Camp Adventure has been amazing. In just a couple of minutes group 8 is going to the blob. The food been great and worship is a environment to let it all out to Jesus

I am an intern here and I have to say that this week has gotten off to a great start. Watching these kids grow in Christ has just been an amazing experience. I can just feel God working in them and I can’t wait to see what he does throughout the week. These kids are amazing, God-followers

Being an intern here has really highlighted and strengthened my faith.  I hope that by working/volunteering, I can make a difference to those around me.    It was really hard to get here, but I am sooo glad I did.  It’s only Monday and all ready I feel clean and changed.  The other interns are so cool-and understanding.  Having Abe direct us is cool, too.  I am just so blessed.

I also am an intern this year at camp. So far it has been amazing!!! Words can’t even explain what it has been like ALREADY!!! God has already started working this week. I’m very excited to see what is going to happen within the next few days. This is my first time here and I wish I would have come as a camper. The meals are also very good, not like the “normal” camp food you would imagine. Once again it has been AWESOME!!!

This is my first year here at Camp Adventure. I heard about the exciting experience when my friend Scott told me about it. He said I’d have fun and stuff. So far…everything has been going pretty well. I’ve made tons of friends. It’s a little different here, the worshiping and all. I’m a Catholic so I’m used to the whole flat note singing. Yeah, it’s cool though. I really enjoy everything, I think that we could improve the size of the Lodge though; it’s getting really cramped here!! Well, you guys keep everything up because I am having a blast so far.

So about the first day of camp…  I never went to this camp before now, and I wish I would have, I just heard about it (from my brother, Josh).  So this year I volunteered to be an intern, and it has been really fun so far…  Especially since during horizontal hour we went on the Blob…  It was incredible!  The worship is amazing.  It really is cool to see God touching these kids’ hearts.  And this is just the first day!  Just think what could happen the rest of the week!  I can’t wait to see it.

            First off- phenomenal…which is referring to a phenomenon… is the only word to describe how great this place is.  Even though I’m an intern and working my butt off I am having so much fun. Just having fellowship with my peers in a camp devoted to God is a gift from God.- Ryan Hepler

 

Oh my gosh!!!  I absolutely love camp!!!  I just got finished “Blobing” and I think that I made a record!  Ha,ha  In the hours that I’ve been here, I’ve had a lot of fun and I have made some new friends!  While I’m here, my goal is to get closer to God and become a better Christian.  This will probably be the best experience of my life and I mean it!  I can’t wait until the worship tonight!  The worship is AMAZING!  THANK YOU EVERYONE!  *Laura Hummitch

What’s up guys? So far it’s been a lot of fun.My group is named Eagle.  Instead of Denny teaching its Scott that’s doing the teaching. The cabin has double and triple bunks. This week we have been in the series called “DISCOVER” and its pretty awesome. We’ve done stuff like today we had a talk about how does god live in your heart. So what’s up over at the house? What have you guys done that’s fun? Say hi to Danielle. We’re going to bed at 11p.m and get up at 7a.m. So its been a long day for me its Mon. at 3:58 p.m. See you later… and God said, “amen.”

Hey mom camp is really cool. We went on a climbing wall. There was a zip line that went over a pond. For lunch I had a sandwich and French fries. The worship is like a concert two times a day. After five minutes I couldn’t feel my legs. Miss you.

Hey guys! What’s up? Today was awesome. We had morning worship and it was so cool. The band is really good and everyone here is awesome. Today we did high ropes and I climbed a wall and it was pretty fun. The food’s pretty good, better than school. Mom, if you read this please send me contact solution fast!! L8er!

Hey mom. I’m having a great time at camp. Today we did the high ropes course!! It was so much fun!! I did the zip-line for the first time… it was awesome. The band is great, and so it worship. Camp is awesome!  I love the worship.   My favorite song is “You Never Let Go.”  My group got to go on the blob.  It was fun!  Ok well camp is awesome and the food is great!

Dear everyone,

Here I am at camp adventure…camp is very entertaining…and they say we’ll have some fun when it stops raining.  Oh my, camp is awesome.  God is really working in these kids early.  I cannot wait to see what happens this week.  My cabin went on the high ropes and it was awesome.  I miss everyone, but the company here is awesome.  I am glad I get to spend time with my campers.  I pray that God will keep working in their hearts.  Last, I want to thank you parents for letting us influence your kids for a week.  I love them and cannot get enough of them.  Thank you and God bless!

Camp is so much fun!!!!!!  Today I went on the blob and it is sooooooooooo much fun to do!  So far it’s been a whole lot of  fun. Hope tomorrow is just as fun as today was or even more fun than today has been. Well, I’m off to worship, my favorite thing to do!!!!

As a fourth-year counselor, I can confidently say that this is the best start of the week EVER!!  Your sons and daughters just continuously amaze me with their enthusiasm, wisdom, and sense of fun.  Although they still possess the nice attention span of the middle schooler, these kids have really buckled down and have actively immersed themselves in this week.  They have genuine passion and it is just making this week amazing.  Thank you parents so much for sharing you kids with us this wee1
