My camp experience has been awesome! We have done the coolest things!! We did high ropes and low ropes. I was scared of the high ropes at first but then everyone encouraged me and I had a great time. I also went down the zip-line upside-down! In low ropes, we learned so much teamwork. It was great! I got like 2-3 bulls-eyes in archery!! I was excited!! Today we also did the blob. It was awesome!!!! My counselor blobbed me as high as the platform. I have learned so much about God!!! Scott and my counselors have taught me so much! Worship is even more exciting with singing, hands raised, clapping, and just being with God!! Tonight is Commitment Night…Then right before that is messy games! My clothes are going to get very crappy! Well other than those things, my cabin is great, we haven’t won Camp Beautiful yet but I’m sure we will tomorrow! I can’t wait for the rest of the week! It’s going to be so awesome! I have just had one of the greatest weeks ever here! Camp Adventure is so awesome!!!

Today I discovered how awesome praise can be! In camp it’s amazing because no one judges you when your jumping up and down and singing so off key no one can under stand you!! ( Anyway it’s so cool to watch all these kids, so into singing for and to God, with their eyes closed arms raised… or the exact opposite of jumping, dancing and pointing to the sky.  I am so glad that all these kids are getting closer and closer to God and almost reaching their tipping point… close to letting God know and do everything with them.  I hope I become very close to God too and that everyone here… the campers interns and counselors have the best time every and wanna come back next year!!

Camp has been an amazing experience for me.  I’ve never been to camp or camping before, so I didn’t really know what to expect.  Everything has been so fun.  I especially liked the high ropes obstacle course.  I have been afraid of heights since I was little, and doing the course was like overcoming my fear.  It was absolutely spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!

Camp is so much fun!! Worship time is the best I love it!!… I think everyone does, but I can’t speak for everyone. We had so much fun today but I am so tired! Messy game is coming up in valley games can’t wait!  Well I just wanted to say that camp is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had even though I came last year. I’m really enjoying camp. It’s awesome. I really like all of the activities that we’re doing. Part of the reason that I’m enjoying it so much is because of my counselor. Mitzi is awesome. I really like worship and Scott’s messages too.

Blobed me really high!  Yesterday we did archery.  The day before that, we did the high ropes.  Camp is a blast so far!

I just came from worship with your kids and I have to say that it was amazing watching them commit themselves to Jesus Christ. As many of you do not know, tonight was commitment night. There were altars at the front and so many people got up to give up their lives for Jesus Christ that there were lines to get to the counselors at the front.  The worship was amazing as usual. You parents are going to be so amazed at the transformation that your kids have gone through. They are different people than when they left. Thank you for allowing me to be here with your kids.

Our group of girls is continuing to surprise me!  The way they are engaging in worship, and how they are responding to the talks that Scott has been giving is wonderful to watch. They understand what it means to not just “know” but “believe”.  It is a huge blessing to be here with your kids. Thanks for sending them!!

Last night was awesome!!! I am really getting closer to God! I was really happy with Scott’s talk. It was just really great to know that you can cry with everybody and know you are not going to be judged.

This week has been awesome! Just watching all of the campers grow with God has just made me think. It made me want to be so much more with God. I can’t even describe the feeling you get when everyone is just singing his or her hearts out during worship. It’s like it sends this chill up your spine. And it’s a great feeling. I have learned so much from all of your kids!!! Being an intern has led me to get the back view from what’s really happening here. And I’ve got to tell you, it’s amazing!

This week has been awesome!!! I love camp , the week has gone by so fast. We went blobing yesterday  it was fun. Today we are going canoeing that will be fun too. I will see u soon bye!!!

  Commitment Night was very emotional. I cried the whole time. Camp has been great! The swimming pool is so fun with the 2 diving boards and the counselor camper keep away. Tonight we have the giant slip-n-slide. Its going to be soo much fun! Messy games were so fun. We smelled like syrup the whole night! It was a little bit gross! Camp has gone so fast! Yesterday was the best!!! We did messy games and got covered in syrup… That was nasty!!! At the end of messy games we made diet coke explode by putting mentos in it, it was fun !!!

Well today was one the most fun days cause I got to go on the low ropes course and it was awesome. Last night was a really sad night cause everyone started to cry and I recommitted myself to him.

Hey today is flying by like crazy. Last night was awesome!!! The atmosphere around me was incredible. I am definitely going to miss this camp and I’m definitely coming back to be an intern. I love my counselors we get into so much detail when we are together and I love it. Lee and Amber are my counselors they actually understand what I am going through and they can help me in almost every situation. They are also very energetic and love God and kids. Because of them they have really opened my eyes and helped me go down the right path.  Ttfn!

Hey! Last night was one of the most amazing nights of my life. I watched so many people come to God. I had been going through some rough stuff as well.  It was amazing to have that weight lifted off my shoulders. I’m going to have to admit I cried most of the night. I am so glad that I came to help at camp this year. It has been a life changing experience. The other interns that I have been hanging out with all week are amazing. I love them all! They are all so willing to give of themselves to serve God.  Just about two days left and I know God still has some amazing things in store. I am going to go now.

This week at  camp has been so awesome!! I am so glad that I recommitted & I am so happy  for all of the people that committed for the first time and the people that recommitted. Today we did high ropes  and it was so fun but challenging!  I feel like I have gotten so much closer to God since I’ve been here! I’m going to miss this place!

*Camp is so much fun. So far I’ve blobed, canoed, high roped, and have attempted archery.  The pool is so cold. Worship is defiantly my style.  Scott’s messages are truly a blessing.   On Wednesday I reaccepted Christ. Mitz my cabin leader is very cool. She is my role model. I couldn’t ask for better friends this week, they have defiantly been there for me this week.  And I will always remember them in my prayers. One of my cabin girls is named Laura and her eleven-year-old brother has brain cancer. All I can say is I will becoming back next year.

Well, today is the last day of camp.  We just finished worship in our last session and Scott is in teaching right now.  Your kids, the students at this camp, have grown.  God has been moving in the hearts of your students, and they are ready to make a difference in their world.  Encourage and support them as they come home.  (You may even want to let them catch up on some sleep ( ).  But be sure to ask questions…  They may act like they don’t want to share, but don’t let them off the hook.  These kids have experienced things this week that will change them for eternity…  find out how.  It has been an honor to lead your students in worship this week.  I have been changed this week too, and my heart has been touched by your students more than they will ever know.

I am sad to say that it is time to go home.  Camp has been a good experience for me.  Thursday night I took communion for the first time.  My personality has changed over the week.  There is only one thing that worry’s me and that is that I will forget every thing at camp and just forget the messages, most though is that I will make some bad mistakes.  I’m sad to say camp is over it seems like yesterday I didn’t want to come to camp, but I loved it and I will be coming back next year and I can’t wait.

ah! FRIDAY ALREADY!!!  Isn’t it hard to believe? It seems like this week went by so fast! Its true and no one wants to believe it but its Friday already and I am definitely NOT ready to go home. Just the whole experiences of what had happened in the last 2 nights are remarkable. This weeks experience was amazing and so much fun, especially the blob… it was so scary but the encouragement of everyone and having them cheer me on. I have to go now bye bye!!

     Ok, Friday and I am finally blogging  for the first time, just to say how AWESOME camp has been!!! It’s been soooo great to see God working in all of us here this week, bringing us all together for one week! We’ve gotten to know one another, and God especially, much better. Worship is amazing…the 8:17 band is great! This is truly a great experience! It’s a bummer we have to wait a whole year to do it again, but until then, I hope we can all remember what God has done for us! A big thank to the  counselors and Camp Adventure staff too! Bye~!

Today is the last day of camp. I am so tired, but it was all worth it. I learned so much this week, and I meet a group of amazing people. This week God has moved so much. I’ve had a lot of fun. I’ve met many new friends. My councelor is so nice I love her. Scott’s teaching sessions have moved me a lot. And I absolutely love worship! I’m looking forward to next year.

Hey what’s up… camp is absolutely fantabululois. One of the best things is the food. But the worship is amazing. At the beginning of the week we were all very quiet but as the week progressed we all got into what we were doing. Everyone here is amazing and the counselors are awesome. While you are waiting to see photo's and read the "end of the week blogs", I have something for you. I am posting the lyrics to a Brad Paisley tune from the movie Cars, titled: Find Yourself. We listened to the song while we were at camp. Many of your students connected to the song. We talked later in the week about "giving all that we know about ourselves, to all that we know about God. " It might be fun to print the lyrics and talk about the song with your student. Maybe even download the song from itunes, or buy the soundtrack and listen to the song together. Great worship music like we did at camp is also available HERE.

Thursday/Friday Blogs

Parents and Students,

I promised pictures and the Thursday/Friday blogs by midnight tonight. Well, as camp was ending, I got a call on my phone that ended with Deanna and I taking Aaron (our 3 year old) to the hospital for two stitches in his lip. He is fine and doing great! now! He was a trooper.

Since I left camp in such a hurry (I left even before many parents left) the pictures and blog content are still at camp. I will have them here on this site soon...Hopefully by end of day on Saturday.

I am so proud of your students.  Reading their blogs and watching them here at camp gives me hope for the future of our country.  I am excited to see how God uses this week in the lives of your kids.  Today has been great.  It rained a little, but that is over and we are on to our afternoon activities.  These students are inspiring to me.  The way they express kindness to each other and the way they are engaging with the week is amazing.  We are getting to see what you have worked so hard to accomplish for many years.  Thank you!

I’m first! Yeah. That doesn’t mean anything though, because we are all equally great. Today we read a small bit of James. That was really cool. It is a really good lesson booster, if you know what I mean. Okay so far I have learned that there are some really insanely…awesome people so far at this camp. The kids are just amazing; they inspire and amaze me every day.  I’ve made a ton of good intern friends. I hope to God that everything keeps going downhill from here because all the uphill stuff is hard to walk up. GO CAMP! YEAA

I just walked out of the morning session… Scott is teaching, and I can hear him through the door. We just finished worship, and I can’t believe it’s still just the second day. Your students are AMAZING! They are engaging with God in some ways that are blowing the top off of the expectations of us directors. Thank You. Yesterday it felt like forever in the good kind a way. We did archery. Today we are going to the blob or something like that, but ever one likes it so I’m sure I will.

Yesterday was Monday and we went swimming and archery and I actually hit the board…I was pretty happy. Then we watched skits and they were all really funny.
Today we’re going blobbing and I’m excited.

Well yesterday was a great day we did so much fun stuff! Its so crazy awesome here its almost scary! I’ having a great time, and today we go blobbing!

WOW!!!!…is pretty much all I can say at this point. It’s only Tuesday and all of the kids are participating in deep conversation and completely indulging in worship…I just hope the rest of the week will continue to blow me away.

Well yesterday was Monday and that’s what it was! It was hard to get up since I get up at 10. anyway, today our cabin is going blobbing. What fun. Yesterday, that song by Brad Paisley really spoke to me. I have no idea where I am going in life right now.

Monday was awesome. When we had worship I felt closer to god. It was amazing. We had archery and I made 2 bulls-eyes. I was the only one. Today we’re going to go Blobbing. You jump on a huge air blow up thing on top of the water and you bounce someone off. See ya Taylor Grandstaff J


Great time at camp lovin’ Jr. High kids. Getting to know guys from my own youth ministry so much better and getting to be a kid again for a whole week. Camp Adventure has not changed a bit since I came here as a camper! It is a blast, and now that I am able to see it from a counselor’s perspective is just an amazing blessing! We have a great group of guys and girls, and I can’t wait to see how God works in their hearts this week!

Today’s focus is “News from the first day of Camp”

 

Its awesome.

 

 

Parents.  You would be so proud of your students.  So far, our first hours of camp are incredible.  It has been so cool to see your students engaging with God in worship.  They have started to have a great time with their counselors… and we(as staff) are already being left out of the little cabin jokes they are enjoying. 

 

I think that one of the things I love watching is the way these students find and reveal their true identities to us as the week goes along.  As these students get more comfortable with themselves and each other, they show us who they really are.  There isn’t as much pressure here for kids to try and impress people.  Somehow, they are beginning to understand that their value lies in what is inside and not outside.  I’m excited to see what God does this week.

Just a quick note…  After two sessions with your students, it has been amazing to see God begin to stir their hearts toward worship already.  We have had the best first sessions that I can remember (after 11 years of leading worship in a camp setting).  It is an honor to be able to worship with your students, and to see them connecting with God in such an amazing way so early in the week!

I am an intern here and I have to say that this week has gotten off to a great start. Watching these kids grow in Christ has just been an amazing experience. I can just feel God working in them and I can’t wait to see what he does throughout the week. These kids are amazing, God-followers

Being an intern here has really highlighted and strengthened my faith.  I hope that by working/volunteering, I can make a difference to those around me.    It was really hard to get here, but I am sooo glad I did.  It’s only Monday and all ready I feel clean and changed.  The other interns are so cool-and understanding.  Having Abe direct us is cool, too.  I am just so blessed.

I also am an intern this year at camp. So far it has been amazing!!! Words can’t even explain what it has been like ALREADY!!! God has already started working this week. I’m very excited to see what is going to happen within the next few days. This is my first time here and I wish I would have come as a camper. The meals are also very good, not like the “normal” camp food you would imagine. Once again it has been AWESOME!!!

This is my first year here at Camp Adventure. I heard about the exciting experience when my friend Scott told me about it. He said I’d have fun and stuff. So far…everything has been going pretty well. I’ve made tons of friends. It’s a little different here, the worshiping and all. I’m a Catholic so I’m used to the whole flat note singing. Yeah, it’s cool though. I really enjoy everything, I think that we could improve the size of the Lodge though; it’s getting really cramped here!! Well, you guys keep everything up because I am having a blast so far.

So about the first day of camp…  I never went to this camp before now, and I wish I would have, I just heard about it (from my brother, Josh).  So this year I volunteered to be an intern, and it has been really fun so far…  Especially since during horizontal hour we went on the Blob…  It was incredible!  The worship is amazing.  It really is cool to see God touching these kids’ hearts.  And this is just the first day!  Just think what could happen the rest of the week!  I can’t wait to see it.

Oh my gosh!!!  I absolutely love camp!!!  I just got finished “Blobing” and I think that I made a record!  Ha,ha  In the hours that I’ve been here, I’ve had a lot of fun and I have made some new friends!  While I’m here, my goal is to get closer to God and become a better Christian.  This will probably be the best experience of my life and I mean it!  I can’t wait until the worship tonight!  The worship is AMAZING!  THANK YOU EVERYONE!  *Laura Hummitch

What’s up guys? So far it’s been a lot of fun.My group is named Eagle.  Instead of Denny teaching its Scott that’s doing the teaching. The cabin has double and triple bunks. This week we have been in the series called “DISCOVER” and its pretty awesome. We’ve done stuff like today we had a talk about how does god live in your heart. So what’s up over at the house? What have you guys done that’s fun? Say hi to Danielle. We’re going to bed at 11p.m and get up at 7a.m. So its been a long day for me its Mon. at 3:58 p.m. See you later… and God said, “amen.”

Hey mom camp is really cool. We went on a climbing wall. There was a zip line that went over a pond. For lunch I had a sandwich and French fries. The worship is like a concert two times a day. After five minutes I couldn’t feel my legs. Miss you.

Dear everyone,

Here I am at camp adventure…camp is very entertaining…and they say we’ll have some fun when it stops raining.  Oh my, camp is awesome.  God is really working in these kids early.  I cannot wait to see what happens this week.  My cabin went on the high ropes and it was awesome.  I miss everyone, but the company here is awesome.  I am glad I get to spend time with my campers.  I pray that God will keep working in their hearts.  Last, I want to thank you parents for letting us influence your kids for a week.  I love them and cannot get enough of them.  Thank you and God bless!

As a fourth-year counselor, I can confidently say that this is the best start of the week EVER!!  Your sons and daughters just continuously amaze me with their enthusiasm, wisdom, and sense of fun.  Although they still possess the nice attention span of the middle schooler, these kids have really buckled down and have actively immersed themselves in this week.  They have genuine passion and it is just making this week amazing.  Thank you parents so much for sharing you kids with us this wee1
